Location: San Francisco Bay Area, California


CSG is seeking a Marketing Associate with excellent verbal and written communication skills, proven experience in content management, and expert project management skills. Working in a collaborative environment, the Marketing Associate will focus on proposal development and management of related marketing content.


Proposal Development

  • Interpret requests for proposals (RFPs) to identify required content elements and strategic messages.
  • Work within proposal deadlines and with minimal supervision to prioritize and manage the gathering of the needed information, develop content and draft proposals, manage reviews by the appropriate stakeholders, and obtain final proposal approvals.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with proposal contributors to obtain, edit, and craft content.
  • Perform content assembly, editing, formatting, review, and production. Ensure that all RFP technical requirements are met, proposals are tailored to prospective clients’ needs, content is relevant and accurate, and all text and graphical elements adhere to templates, brand guidelines, and visual presentation and communication standards.


Content and Data Management

  • Assist content developers with the creation of reusable marketing information for use in proposals and other media.
  • Through fact-checking, version control and related quality control functions, maintain the accuracy and currency of proposal content and other marketing information including staff qualifications, project descriptions, value messaging, client data, photographs, and graphical elements.
  • Assist with the development of internal software tools and processes to maintain the accuracy and integrity of marketing data.
  • Maintain Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe InDesign templates.


Other Marketing Responsibilities

  • Coordinate marketing events, sponsorships, and use of promotional materials.
  • Assist with the development of marketing communications projects including print collateral, advertising, web site content, email messaging/campaigns, social media, and presentations.
  • Utilize creative writing skills to craft engaging and impactful marketing messages.
  • Update marketing tracking systems and records.
  • Maintain inventory of proposal production materials, marketing collateral, and promotional items.
  • Perform competitive research as directed.



  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in English, Marketing, Journalism or Communications.
  • 1-3 years of marketing experience preferably for B2B or B2G professional services. Alternatively, 1-3 years in a legal assistant, technical writer, advertising copy editor, or similar role will be considered as a substitute.
  • Proven project management skills and the ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks, problem-solve, and work effectively with others to deliver high quality results within prescribed deadlines.
  • Highly organized, self-directed, self-starting, and proactive.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills.
  • Masterful at verbal and written communications.
  • Seasoned in business and technical writing.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Experience with Microsoft Word templates, themes, styles, and advanced formatting functions.



  • Experience with maintaining digital assets and marketing data utilizing CRM, CMS and/or DAM software.
  • Proven creative writing skills.
  • Knowledge of visual design principles.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite products including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Print and web production experience.

Working Conditions

  • General office environment.
  • Regularly requires working in a seated position at workstation for extended periods.
  • Occasionally may require lifting up to 20 lbs.
