After careful, multi-year planning, CSG Consultants is embarking on a leadership transition designed to ensure continuity, stability, and long-term alignment with our company values and employee-owned structure.
 
Beginning in August, Daniel Gonzales P.E. will assume the role of president of CSG while Cyrus Kianpour will continue to serve as CEO. During the months that follow, Daniel and Cyrus will work closely together in a structured overlap period designed to support knowledge transfer, continuity of relationships, and steady leadership across the company. 
 
In March 2027, Daniel will assume full responsibility for leading the company as president and CEO. Cyrus will transition into an advisory role focused on client relationships, employee engagement and retention, and business development while continuing to serve on the board of directors.  
Daniel brings extensive experience in civil engineering and infrastructure delivery, including prior tenure with CSG from 2007 to 2017 and multiple leadership roles within municipal government. Most recently, he has served as public works director for the City of Piedmont, overseeing municipal infrastructure and operations including streets, drainage, parks, traffic engineering, capital improvement projects, parking, and public facilities. He also served as president of the American Public Works Association (APWA), Silicon Valley chapter.  
 
This transition represents the culmination of a deliberate succession planning effort intended to position CSG for long-term success while preserving the values and culture that have guided the company for more than three decades. This phased transition is positive, proactive step designed to support stability and continuity for employees, clients, and partners.
